Sewing 101

I learned to sew by myself and I often confuse myself with the stitches names and all that. But I would like for that to change. Come and join me while I try to educate myself about sewing.

*Disclaimer: I am not an expert nor do I pretend to be one. I am a beginner with lots of interest to learn more about the wonderful world called sewing.

I know I won't be able to cover everything you'd like to know. So, do check out April's Sewing School Series for more useful information!

I've had a sewing machine for 5 years and have never made anything on it. I definitely could use this help!

I've always wanted to sew but never had time to take it up. It's such a useful skill, I'm going to check that link out right away.

I have always wanted to know how to sew. Mom has always taken care of most stuff and now my wife.

Oh. My. Gosh. YAY! I've been wanting to learn how to sew for so long. I don't have any friends/family who sew and the books I got from the library didn't help. Thanks! :)

I remember taking sewing lessons as a child, I don't remember what I learned though. lol And then there was home ec in school, yeah I guess I am showing my age. but basically I too am self taught. I have to say I do pretty good too. I have made many costumes for my children that people ask where I bought them and can they borrow them. I do all my sewing by hand, I never use a machine. The few times I did, it took me longer to thread the machine then it would for me to sew the item.
