Happy New Year to all!

Happy New Year to all our family and relatives in the Philippines, Japan, United States and Spain. Happy New Year to all our friends all over the world. Wherever you are, my family wishes you a very happy and prosperous new year!

The night before, my daughter and I stayed up late at night and made  chocolate decors. She couldn't wait for the chocolate to set and was so excited! ^^) As always, I was unprepared and made chocolate decors *late* ^^) and had to scour the internet for free printables. Good thing I saw this printable from Icing Designs! What a lifesaver!

While waiting for the chocolate to set, we also made some bombones. The kids filled the candy molds with some sprinkles, jimmies, sugar pearls and chocolate pearls. I melted some milk chocolate. I only had too little white chocolate on hand so I ended up using some of the candy melts I had on hand.

Today, after lunch, the kids and I made some cupcakes. They were so eager to decorate them! They were so excited that the word "Happy" broke. They ended up eating it. And they were happy! ^^)

They also helped me set the table. Just a simple table setting which we all loved.

If you're wondering where I got those nice cupcake toppers, well I got them Anne and Blue Paperie. I printed them 5 minutes before the table was set. 2 minutes later, I had all the toppers punched and ready to use. Another lifesaver, indeed! ^^)

Later on, it was time to do my princess' hair. She chose to use the ricrac rosette ponytail holder I made for her.

My princess then took this blurry photo of me while the li'l guy was snoring in the living room, enjoying his afternoon siesta ^^)

We had a very simple Noche Vieja dinner. We had some freshly-baked baguette, lettuce salad and my mother-in-law's killer (^^) cannelloni. Yum! ^^)

And yes! I ate all of that! ^^)

Leftovers, yay! I won't have to cook tomorrow ^^)
While waiting for the Campanadas (countdown), we watched the countdown show in television while playing some board games. We ate, too. A LOT! ^^) Everybody had their own cupcake, yes, with their name on it ^^)

It was a cozy night with just my family and my mother-in-law.

15 minutes before the NEw Year countdown started, the hubs opened a bottle of cava.
Each bowl has 12 grapes which one has to eat everytime the bell rings. You have about 3 seconds to finish each grape so it's important to choose the small and seedless variety ^^) Don't worry, I didn't give my kids grapes for the countdown. They had gummy bears ^^)

And here's the custard cake I made for New Year's lunch.

I don't know about you but I am excited to see what 2013 has in store for me and my family. 2013, bring it on! ^^)

And before I end this post, let me wish you all again a happy new year!
