I love handmade. I love making things but there are just things I would rather buy than make or things I couldn't make myself and of course, would gladly buy. I love Etsy buy I recently discovered Supermarket which is a pretty cool site, too!

Crafty Saturday Party No. 94

How was your Christmas celebration? We celebrated the christmas eve dinner at home and we were just my small family, my MIL and my nephew. My kids helped me bake cookies. 

They also wanted a separate "sweet goodies" table for the cookies. It is also where they left the cookie and milk for Santa and the apple and water for the reindeers. The goodies table was decorated with the snowmen and mini-christmas tree which they made (with a little help from me) from last year's christmas.

The kids helped me set the table.
  For appetizers, I served Pulpo a la Gallega and Prawns Torpedo with Salsa Rosa. You can get the recipes HERE and HERE.
 
We had Arroz de Marisco (Arroz a la Marinera) as main dish which we enjoyed a lot! 

For our dessert, we had some canned peaches, fresh pineapples and custard cake. If you'd like to get the recipe of the cake, go HERE.
The day after, we had porçella rostida con col y patatas hervida (roasted suckling pig and boiled cabbage and potatoes).

On the next day, we had lunch at my mother-in-law's house with her brothers. We had pulpo con salsa.

There was also hot and spicy escalope de pollo. There was chicken nuggets and squid rings for the kids. There were also homemade pickled olives and Rovellones Salteados.

There were gammon steaks which the kids loved!
The most favorite dish was the Gambas salteadas con picadillo.

For dessert, I brought a tray of meringue cake, custard cake, and applesauce-pear cupcakes with vanilla glaze icing. The cupcake was soft, moist, with just the right sweetness and spongy while the glaze was "the icing of the cake"! Yes, recipe will be coming soon ^^)
 
Everybody had a blast!
    The rest of the week, we were all pretty lazy. We slept in late, we played lots of board games and there were pillow fights and massages. Homeworks were made and silly photos were also taken, not in that order, of course! ^^)
      Oh and have I told you how much we love those giant pillows with my handmade pillow covers? They are L*O*V*E

I already stored our christmas tree and the rest of the christmas decoration. But I did leave our nativity set and also left the christmas light and used it to decorate one of my favorite wall eyecandy in my house.

This weekend will be kind of lazy but I might do some sewing and baking here and there, too ^^) What will you be doing this weekend?

We also posted the ricrac rosette tutorial. It's so easy and quick to make. You can make lots of it and make hairclips, headbands, rings and pendants with it. You can give it away as New Year's Eve dinner favors!
