I made this skirt for my daughter's friend and classmate who turned 7 today.
This skirt is so full (almost 90 inches at its fullest/ circumference) and is perfect for twirling.
When laid down, it actually makes a full circle. That's how full the skirt is!
The damask print and the brightness of the color makes this skirt a great addition for your princess' spirng and summer wardrobe! You can even make one for yourself!
To make this skirt, I used my Layered gathered skirt with shirred waist tutorial, minus the shirring. I also added a waistband where I inserted an elastic band.
This skirt was made for a 7-year old girl.
The fabric pieces measured:
Skirt layer 1: (2 pcs.) 10" x 44"
Skirt layer 2: (2 pocs.) 8" x 44"
Skirt layer 3: 5.5" x 44"
Damask band for hips: (2) 4" x 13"
Waist band: (2) 2.5" x 13"
Elastic band: 1" x 20"
I also made hairclips to go with the skirt.
I really hope the birthday girl liked the skirt. I wouldn't know until monday. ^^)
