I got tired of the cheap plastic containers that hand soap can come in and after looking at the other plastic, sometimes cheap looking, yet very expensive, hand soap dispensers, I went through our cupboards looking for inspiration. I found some old jam jars.
I spay painted them, and marked where I wanted the hole and roughly how big.
I did get my husband to drill the hole, I don't think I'm allowed to touch the tools. *I will admit that I did manage to cut myself once the hole was cut, so be careful.*
Push the pump from a cheap hand soap dispenser into place, carefully and tightly. I used hot glue to hold it in place.
Let it dry completely. I wiggled it a little to see how well it was going to hold and it held up quite well. I just added a little more hot glue and its complete.
Two, one for the bathroom and one for the kitchen.

6 lovely people left a warm message!:
what a great idea, I am so making one of these in my kitchen, I am going to go fish an empty jar from my recycling bin!
This is a great idea, I've seen this done with mason jars too, the only thing that's holding me back is the drilling! What size bit did she use?
i LOVE this idea! such a great and inexpensive way to make soap dispensers!
very smart! I never thought about doing that!
I love this! If you don't have a printer, or wanted to try something different, you could always papermache it. We used our favorite tissue paper, and elmer's glue mixed with water to paper mache baby food jars for candle holders and it works perfectly! Thanks so much for sharing, I'm DEFINTIELY going to be doing this.
This is a fabulous idea and I think I could even do it! (I always want to be more craft than I am!) I also think this is absolutely adorable!
