Hi, there! I (Lelanie) have always loved pants! (Un)Fortunately, during and after every pregnancy (I had two) I gain and lose some weight. But fortunately, I've got this reliable sewing buddy so those ill-fitting pants won't have to stay unused. They get to be repurposed into something my family can use. Unfortunately (again, jeje.^^), I won't be able to offer any tutorial since these items had been refashioned before this blog was created so no step-by-step photos were taken. No before and after photos either. Just the finished product and, yeah, I admit I haphazhardly took a photo of what has remained of the repurposed pants.
And no, they won't be thrown away (not just yet). I would still be using them for future projects! Since I cannot make a step-by-step tutorial, I will be linking each project to tutorials offered by the many talented bloggers we are following. Their tutorials are excellent and so clearly explained! Here are the results of the repurposed pants:
1.) A wallet. I have been browsing the Internet and I found this excellent tutorial by CraftPassion. Her TriFold Floral Wallet is so cute, I am tempted to make one as a gift for my niece Ms. N. Her tutorial is so easy to follow, with step-by-step photos and free pattern! What else can you ask for! Why don't you make one and show us your creation (we have a flicker account where you can show everybody your pretty version!)

2.) Reversible Vest for my kids made out of denim and cotton corduroy pants. I used my kid's tshirts as guide and made my own pattern but I browsed the Internet for a tutorial or a free pattern and found this excellet tutorial + free downloable pattern by Leila&Ben.
3. Indoor shoes for my hubby for this cold season. The shoes are lined with an old fleece blanket. I followed this tutorial by Stardustshoes but had to make my own patterns since I could not find any free pattern for my family's shoe sizes.
4.) A skirt for Princess A. The pants used had very wide bottoms so I just cut them to my desired length and took advantage of the ready-made hem. All in all, this skirt has 6 parts only: 4 panels from the pants' bottoms and 2 bands used for the waist (where the elastic was inserted). I used some of the jean's fabric to create some ruffles(but I used the wrong side for some contrast), some tulle fabric to create fabric rosettes and some plastic pearls for embellishment. Sachiko from TeaRoseHome offers here a very detailed tutorial of jeans refashioned into a skirt. Her final product is so, so pretty!
These are the repurposed pants projects I have made until now. And since I still got so many pants here lying around unused, then I think that means more repurposing projects are coming! Yay!
Why don't you show us your repurposed pants projects, too? It doesn't matter what project it is, could be a corsage, a handbag... I am sure they are all pretty!
Happy Sunday everyone! And happy sewing, too!
Love,

I am linking to these parties!
