Win a Gotz Doll, US,

Giveaway and Review posted in behalf of BabyDashCo.

Introducing the Jessica Gotz Doll! This 18 inch stand alone doll features beautiful long blonde hair and an adorable floral & hearts outfit. All their garments are perfectly finished with button holes, pockets, and embroidery, are realistic and not sewn on as applications. The many variations variations of these details really help to promote the creative and motor skills of children. The deliberate abdication of electronic functions allows endless creativity and reduces unnecessary amentites. The child can concentrate on playing and learns to deal consciously with and idea. Thus cognitive abilities such as perception, learning, recall, thinking, and empathy are developed individually.
Their beautifully sculptured faces and expressions speak directly to every doll parent. The personality and charm of the Gotz dolls capture the heart of every child. Superior quality and design provide a lifetime of love. Let yourself be captured by the world of Gotz dolls. They are only using high-quality eyes that are either inserted by hand or painted. Their lashes are specially produced to enhance the natural look of our dolls.

Only the highest quality, natural-looking hair is used in Gotz dolls. This hair has been developed especially for Gotz and, in fact, is still made in Germany! It is rooted into the scalp and is thus easy to care for. Children can wash, style( even with a curling iron & blow dryer on low setting) and brush just like your very own hair!

The latest trends in color and fashion are used in creating fresh clothing styles for our dolls. Lovingly
created clothes contain as many details as real children's clothing and the Gotz outfits are washable and
ironable.

In their collection, you will find both complete vinyl bodies and soft fabric bodies,
which are filled with wool and fine granulates. Their standing dolls are built
with movable arms and legs. If your doll gets dirt simply place your doll in a pillow case and
place in the washer on cold, delicate cycle and lay flat on belly to dry!

Lauren loves her Gotz Doll and honestly her favorite thing about her is that you can wash and style her hair. She cant do that with any of her other dolls. The Jessica doll is made really well and can see it being passed down from generation to generation.
Here's a video of Lauren washing her dolls hair ;)

Gathered Layer Skirt with Frilled Edge Elastic Waist {tutorial}

A few weeks ago, I received this pretty fabric and this elastic band from my blog sponsor, Abakhan.

Frilled Edge Elastic Dark Grey 33 60mm Floral Bouquet Purple 112cm

I decided to make a pretty skirt for my daughter.
Unfortunately, I am currently in a 10-hour work load so completing this project seemed impossible. It took me two weeks to finish it! Yes! Two weeks! Last week(my day off), I cut the fabric and assembled the skirt. And just today, I finally gathered the skirt and finished it. You can of course finish this in one sitting. It's a very easy and quick project!

I used all of the fabric I received for the skirt, though I could have easily made two skirts. But I wanted a full and layered skirt.

You will need:

2 pieces, 14" x 44"
2 pieces,  x 44"
1 piece, 19" wide Frilled edge elastic

Directions:
Hem one long side of each fabric piece by folding 1/4" twice under and sewing straight stitches.

Take one shorter piece and place it on top of one of the longer piece, right sides up and sew the short piece to the longer piece with basting stitches (As you can see, my shorter piece is not yet hemmed in the picture above. I forgot to hem it so I had to stop at the middle of sewing the basting stitches to hem the shorter piece ^^) Repeat the same steps to the remaining two pieces.

Take both skirt pieces (sewn together with basting stitches), align the short sides, wrong sides together and inside as shown above. Sew straight stitches 1/8" away from the edge. Do the same to the other side.

Turn the skirt inside out, carefully press the sides (I run my fingernails on it) and sew straight stitches 1/4" away from the folded edge. Do the same to the other side. You have just made a nice and crisp french hem!

Set your machine to the longest stitch and the tension to 2.

Sew gathering stitches on each side 1/8" away from the raw edge.

Mark the center of each side with a pin. Gather the skirt by pulling on the bobbin threads.

Get the elastic band and sew it close into a loop by sewing straight stitches 1/8" away from the raw edge.

Mark the center and the sides of the elastic band.

Pin the elastic band to your skirt, right sides together. Don't forget to align the centers and sides of the skirt to the elastic band.

Using elastic stitches, sew the skirt and elastic band together. Sew zigzag stitches after to prevent fraying of the raw edge of the skirt fabric.

And you now have a skirt!
Easy peasy, right?

You can make as many as you wanake it shorter or longer, fuller or less full, with as much or less layers as you'd like. You can also use two (or more) coordinating fabrics for the different layers!

Here's my princess trying it on. She liked it so much!

And here I am trying it on just for fun ^^)

I really think the skirt turned out cute and the soft elastic makes it a mother-daughter kind of skirt. I can make another one and we both can use it ^^)

I hope you liked today's tutorial.

Crafty Saturday Party No. 106 (on a Sunday!), a birthday and some winners!

Last friday was my son's 5th birthday! Where did the time go? It seemed like it was only yesterday when I first held him in my arms... The birthday preparation started a month ago. This consisted of me printing the cupcake wrappers, etc. and cutting them. At least 4 days before his birthday, I already started with the cake pops preparation since I could only do it either in my 2-hour mid-morning break from work or after my 10-hour work load.
I made oreo-cream cheese cake pops dipped in white chocolate

That cute cake pop stand was made using styrofoam, hot glue, this  bag of cute buttons and this pretty felt pack that my blog sponsor Abakhan sent me. You can see the how-to post here.

I also made dino nest cupcakes. The vanilla cupcakes were baked in these cute muffin cups that my blog sponsor WholePort sent me.  I also used it for the mini dino cookies. Although the cupcakes were later wrapped with personalized dino themed cupcake wrappers. The cupcakes were vanilla cupcakes topped with whipped cream frosting, decorated with Cadbury easter eggs (yum!^^) and dinosaur sugar confetti.

I also made cute dino chocolates with this dino mold that WholePort sent me. Aren't they cute?

I also made york ham and nutella dino-shaped sandwiches.

The kiddos also enjoyed these dinosaur claws. ^^)

Each kiddo got their own party hat and goodie bag!

Here's my (not so) little one blowing his candles with his birthday crown on...

The kiddos in my son's class had a blast. They loved the food and the goodies. Even my princess got to take some of the birthday food for snack that day. When I picked them up later that day, the Li'l Man told me that his 5th birthday totally rocked! I was one happy though tired mom ^^)

*You can get the printables I used here and here and here (free and purchased)
