Win your choice of Radz Candy Dispenser, US, 6/1

Review and giveaway brought to you by Baby Dash Co.

The new hit around this house and soon to be our school is Radz candy dispensers. You can find my review on them HERE.

Radz Brands has just released their new Gone Wild line of animal-themed candy dispensers that are techy too. Radz candy dispensers are the interactive toy, candy, and online experience that have invaded specialty shops all over the country. The migration continues with the introduction of four new friends - Scratch the Tiger, Bandit the Zebra, Spanky the Monkey and Squeak the Penguin - collectively known as Radz Gone Wild! With summer just around the corner, your local zoo is sure to make a great day trip, and what better way to enhance the experience than with these collectable cuties.

We had received Squeak The Penguin and Scratch the Tiger and the kids loved them!

They came with candy and my kids favorite accessory, the cool shades!

Rads have hooks on then so your child can take their Radz anywhere. My kids love to hook their Radz on their back pack and take them to school. They have become a hit! Radz also makes cool lanyards that allow you to keep your Radz on you at all times. Caden loves his!

Win a Super Duper App (iPhone/iPad) valued at $15, WW, 5/24

Giveaway and Review brought to you by: Baby Dash Co.

I love when my kids are learning something. I have bought them books and flash cards before but they end up all over the house, separated, thrown away or ripped up. In our generation things are changing. Everything is becoming digitalized, which by the way is not as bad as you think! Less mess for parents & less trees cut down for the use of paper!

Super Duper Publications has a wide array of learning apps for you to download right to your Ipod, Ipad or Iphone devise! Let's go over the ones I have, shall we?

These educational social skills Apps for your Iphone, Ipod or Ipad has all 56 illustrated picture cards (plus audio of each card text). It's really simple to use. It's actually the same concept as using a flash card but without he mess! Select the cards you want your kids to see, and have them ask and answer questions about what happens before, during, and after school. The prompts include WH questions like, “Who is your principal?” and “How To Give your Dog A bath?”

Each student looks at an illustration, and either reads the prompt or touches the screen to listen to the prompt. The child then gives a verbal response. After each answer, tap the green (correct) or red (incorrect) button to score the student’s verbal response. Move to the next card by sliding the card currently on the display screen to the side. To move to the next player, tap the bar at the top of the screen and select a name. You can also advance cards and players automatically by selecting the Auto-Advance option in the Game Options menu. You can leave a game temporarily and return to it later by selecting Pause Game from the menu. To return to the game, select Continue Game from the main menu. When you finish, view the results in a graph, and print or email your data.

The "WH' Questions At School Deck Focuses on Questions at a school setting such as “Where is your school?” and “What are your school rules?” This App is one of my kids Favorites.

What would you do at school if... This app includes questions like, “What would you do if … you forgot your homework?” and “What would you do if … your classmate teased you about the new shirt you wore?” I love this app because the kids get to use their imagination.

Who uses Super Duper Publication Apps?

Parents and therapists have been turning to Super Duper for on-the-go lessons anytime for language arts, special needs or to monitor progress. However, with their mobile apps, Super Duper has created something that transformed from “useful” to “some of the most powerful educational apps for teaching reading and supporting differentiation for students with disabilities,” says Scholastic Instructor magazine; who recently named its 50 Fab Apps for Teachers. Included in that list was Super Duper Publications, not once, but three times!
·
In the category of Language Arts, Super Duper StoryMaker makes the list of just 7 recommended apps for mobile devices.
· Erasing the need to carry sets of articulation cards or language worksheets from classroom to classroom is Super Duper's WH Question Cards Pro in the Special Needs category.
These two apps, StoryMaker and WH Question Cards Pro, also won the Spring 2013 Seal of Approval from The National Parenting Center this week.
·
Of the 4 Classroom Management Apps, Super Duper's Data Tracker makes the "fab" list. Which allows you to monitor students’ progress through a subject area with the tap of a finger.
Super Duper Publications offers many more learning apps! You can check them all out in their APP section on their web site or you can download them from Itunes. These apps are a great way to learn at home or on the go with out the hassle of flash cards which always gets lost or destroyed within days.

Now you have a chance to try these! Enter to win $15 worth of Super Duper Apps!

*winner will receive randomly picked app codes via email*

Scrap Busting Project: DIY Shabby Chic Chandelier

Do you have lots of scraps in your stash and just couldn't let go of any of it? Here's one project where I used some of the fabric and lace scraps I had in my stash.

DIY Shabby Chic Candelier from scrap fabrics

I was given this arc for a canopy a long time ago but I never got to hanging it on the wall. But, inspired with this Ribbon and Lace Chandelier by Lucky Star Lane, I decided to use it.

Ribbon and Lace Chandelier, Lucky Star Lane

Since I didn't want to drill any more holes in the wall, I decided to attach the arc to my daughter's closet.

I then chose pretty fabrics and lace from my stash and cut it to desired length. I also added a purple ribbon because I thought it would pop out and add more loveliness to the chandelier.

I was going for a shabby chic look. The hubs thought it was cute. My daughter thought it was the most beautiful chandelier in the whole world ^^)

And oh, that Pompom Trim Mobile you see hanging there? I have a tutorial of that here, if you're interested. ^^)

Just below this chandelier, I hung a framed charcoal portrait of my daughter. And just below that frame is this organizer I sewed using a plain pink cotton fabric and more fabric scraps! If you want to make one, you can find my tutorial here for a Car Organizer.

I hope you liked today's scrap busting projects.

DIY Ruffle Trim Lampshade

Have you seen these pretty lace trims (this and this) at WholePort? Those pretty trims were exactly what I needed to give this drab lampshade a face lift!

Armed with my glue gun (^^), I went ahead and glued the trims to the lampshade. I alternated the white with the pink lace trim. I was too excited to finish it that I just eyeballed it. I then took a scrap of felt and cut a circle with it. I then glued the pink trim all around the felt circle (from the edge to the center) and glued faux pearls on the center. I then glued the ruffled embellishment to the lampshade. Here's the result:

My daughter loved her jazzed up lampshade! With a glue gun and some pretty lace trim, this lampshade definitely looks fab (if I may say so)!

I hope you liked today's tutorial.
